Lisa Ann Richey is a researcher and author on the business of aid, humanitarianism and changing North-South relations. She is currently working on Everyday Humanitarianism in Tanzania and has recently completed a research project on Commodifying Compassion.
Lisa's most recent book Batman Saves the Congo, co-authored with Alexandra Budabin, explores the role of celebrities in disrupting humanitarian space.

Research Projects
The Everyday Humanitarianism in Tanzania (EveryHumanTZ) project is a joint research project between Denmark and Tanzania, that examines how ordinary people in everyday life engage in humanitarian crisis in Tanzania.
Until 2021, I led the research project ‘Commodifying Compassion: Implications of Turning People into Marketable Things' (a four year FSE fully-funded program) with impact as part of the project design. I led the project together with 3 Co-I's.
